At the end of Scientific Sessions a Welcome Reception will be offered in the garden of the Congress Venue.

Thursday, August 31 h. 20.00-23.30
The "Basilica" is the result of the restoration carried out in the Arsenal of the Fortezza da Basso in 1995, on the occasion of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the EU, which was held at the Fortezza da Basso in June 1996.
Fortezza da Basso is a masterpiece of the Renaissance military architecture, designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger on commission from Alessandro de' Medici and built between 1534 and 1537. It is now the main structure of the Conference Centre in Florence and strategically located in the historical center of the city.

Tuesday, August 29 h. 9.30-13.00
The tour will give you the key to discover and enjoy all the most famous places in the town. A bus-drive for a stunning bird-eye-view on the city - from one of its best and most famous lookouts, Michelangelo Square, as well as a stroll along the river Arno and the more recent Oltrarno area, not to mention a walk straight into the heart of the oldest Roman town.
You will know the historical background of the Florentine outstanding architectural achievements and the story of its most famous families - like the Medici's - while admiring the elegant shape of its political and religious centre.
Old Palace and the Cathedral, but also many other famous buildings, lively squares, secret corners and unique streets will introduce you into the spirit of the town.
You will enjoy one of the city most renowned ice-cream too, as we have a short break during our tour.
This and much more, before reaching back the Palazzo dei Congressi at the end of the tour.
